John & Sheena  > Laos > Luang Prabang > Nam Khan Villas
The hotel we stayed at. It looked nice but, being newly opened, had tons of problems.

John & Sheena > By day our room one of three in a traditional Lao long house usually shared by one family.
John & Sheena > The trellis was covered in passion fruit. The owners gave us some to try and it was great.

John & Sheena > The restaurant at our hotel 'specialised' in Spanish cuisine. We were after Lao stuff. They had a small menu including buffalo (sorry no buffalo), chicken (sorry no chicken) and fish (yes!). The flamenco-inspired music was a bit out of place too...

John & Sheena > Breadruit grew abundantly on the tree in the middle of the hotel. They were worried that one might fall on a guest. No joke, the big ones would kill you. They talked about a 20 kilo one they'd taken down earlier that year.
John & Sheena > Our room by night with the glowing owls lighting the way.
John & Sheena > Our bathroom. The shower curtain stopped six inches too short, the toilet was organic and smelled, we had to put used toilet paper in the open bin and there was no hot water one night. Other than that it was lovely ;-)
John & Sheena > Our bedroom with it's rustic charm was actually paper thin and devoid of any furniture except a small bamboo stool. The mossie net was in the way of the fan and didn't cover the bed. We got bitten every night.
